5 Websites to Download Free Images for Your Blog

You love writing? You want to get more people to read your story? Here’s one thing you need the most: an attractive photo!
Of course, it must have something to do with your topic as well.
People nowadays have short attention spans. They hate lots of texts! And if your post, or blog is buried in the internet without a catchy photo, there’s a small possibility of people clicking on your post.

Now, give your article a break, prevent it from begging your readers to click on it – add a photo! I present you, the 5 awesome websites where you can get free images for your blog.
But wait! Before you close this window and search photos on Google.com, you have to realize that not ALL photos in there are free and legal to use. We have this thing called “Copyright Infringement”, so to stay on the safe side, I will give you 5 websites that offer lots of free to use images.

#1. Pixabay.com

My favorite! Not only do they have high quality, free to use photos, Pixabay also lets you use their photos without asking you to add attributions. Use them all you want! Although, I always add attribution when I use them for my blog, it's up to you. Actually, most of the photos you see on my blog came from Pixabay. Some, from the free images of Canva. Well, Canva is not a website for free images.

Another thing I love about Pixabay is their website. It is very user friendly and the layout is very professional.

#2. Morguefiles.com

My second choice, because sometimes there are a few photos that I couldn’t find on Pixabay. Morguefiles also have high quality photos, but make sure that you read the license and add attributions when needed.

#3. Wikimedia Commons

Wikimedia Commons has millions of free to use photos. This is my third option because they only have a few high quality photos. Some of them are taken in poor lighting, and probably with a mobile camera. However, this website has a wide range of photos you can choose from.

#4. Photopin.com

Like Pixabay, Photopin is also a professional website that is easy to use. They have lots of high quality images that are sponsored (paid), and free (usually from Flickr and Wikimedia Commons).

#5. Gratisography.com

This is basically a gallery of the photographer, Ryan Mcguire. The pictures are limited but they sure are of high quality, and free for personal and commercial use. My only issue with the website is it does not have a search box where users can search for specific photos. You literally have to scroll all the way down to find the photo you need.
