Baby Boy Born with 31 Fingers and Toes

You read that right! 31 fingers and toes (16 toes and 15 fingers).

Hong Hong is a 4-month old Chinese baby who was born with a condition called polydactylism. This is a congenital condition that can be passed to the offsprings. Polydactylism is very common and can affect humans and animals, and causes them to have extra fingers and toes.

Hong Hong's mom got very worried when she learned she was pregnant. She also has the condition and has 6 fingers on each hand. According to Doctors, Hong Hong doesn't have any thumb, so he would need to undergo a reconstructive surgery to get thumbs. The Doctors would also need to remove his extra toes and fingers. Because of this, some Doctors advised his parents that surgery is too complicated for the child. Right now, Hong Hong still has to wait until he's old enough to undergo surgery.

The baby's parents tried to raise money through crowdfunding and were able to raise more than $6,000. However, the fundraising was stopped because his parents worried about how the people that surround them reacted when they learned they are collecting money from the Internet. Hong Hong's Dad has no other choice but to go back to Shenzen, China and continue working.
